Exploring the lower level of Thistletop. The group comes across a chamber filled with refuse. To the north, they spot an amorphous blob of a creature with many tentacles. It slowly approaches them, so they back off. After much discussion, they decide to throw one of the fallen Thistletop tribe to it to see what the thing does. Doing so, the creature holds the dead goblin with one of it's primary tentacles and stabs it with a lither one, with a barb on the end. It drags it deeper into what must be it's lair, to a bunch of already dead goblins, who are little more now than skin and bones. Already, the one sacrificed to it seems to have become more thin. While it is distracted, the party squeaks by. Further exploring, they come across a bunch of rooms that seem to belong to the inhabitants. In one, they find a heavily armored man who brandishes a bastard sword against them. A charm spell and some rope tying later, he is found at an extreme disadvantage. The man calls himself Orik Vancaskerkin and reveals how he came to be working under the service of Naulia. Not the least bit loyal to her other than his payment, he and the party decide it would be best if he fought with, rather than against them, as they have turned Thistletops forces thus far into rotting meat. Orik informs the group of everything he knows, most importantly Naulia's "Monster Dogs" and of all her hired bodyguards. The only bodyguard left is one Lyrie Akenja. Despite being a bit sweet on her. Orik agrees to a treacherous plan to ambush her. After informing her that Tsuto was back and injured, Orik led her to the "art gallery" where Tzar was disguised as Tsuto via a magic hat while Palon blocked Lyrie's movement and Fender snuck up from behind with his sickle. Needless to say, Lyrie's life didn't last much longer. The party continues into the lowest explored reaches of Thistletop. Where Naulia is supposed to be desperately looking for something. Fender proceeds in the front, cautiously searching the ancient tilted rooms for traps and other potential hazards. He indeed finds one trap where a pressure plated floor would be triggered to release a gate trapping a person in a small space where two statues would then glaive the individual to ribbons, then dump the remains into a pit (or the survivor). He manages to rig a bypass and the party passes easily. They eventually come to a room where the walled lanterns cease to exist. Possessing ample light sources though, their progress is generally unimpeded. They find a wall with a massive pillar of gold, but it turns out there is some kind of illusion spell on it. Finding no use of the gold stacked wall, they press onward. Fender comes to a crypt, and is suddenly attacked by what appear to be physical shadows. After a harried and uncertain battle, Orik and Tzar feel as if their strength has been lost after being touched by the ghouls. After a quick inspection of the statues in this crypt, some dust on the ground catches Fenders eye. It appears that there was once some traffic near the wall. With his keen senses, it is obvious that there is a secret door there....
But with everyone feeling weak. They decide to make the trip back to town first to rest up before exploring further. On the way out they meet a warrior named Selene who was headed into Thistletop Everyone spends a couple days resting, shopping, thieving. In particular, Fender steals a few potions, Palon brings Stickfoots corpse to the tanner to see what he can have made out of it, as well as scare people at the bazaar with Ripnugget.Tzar ended up working on his bow craftsmanship. On Sunday Palon, Tzar, and Fender heard the scream of a man being attacked by some foul humanoid beast. Arriving on Kibbles?, Palon was first on the scene and slew the beast before the others arrived. The man informed Palon that the creature came from the direction of the glassworks...
