We are watching it, hooray!
Hmm, I swore it was older, I remember hearing about it when I was a kid, or so I thought. Hell, maybe I was still watching "new" seasons of Ranma back then....
In any case it has an old school feel to it. I keep thinking about Fire Emblem during it though, especially when Griffith and Guts faced off on the cliff, I couldn't stop thinking about a Myrmidon vs. Hero Battle....That and silent shots of people in the show usually put music into their heads (in my own head). For a show renowned far and wide for it's bloodshed and not it's story is proving to be fairly entertaining on the whole. Maybe there is positive spin on the story around the interwebs, but I haven't been paying attention to anime buffs for ten years, since most self proclaimed anime aficionados anymore don't know anything about it (mainly the ten year old crowd, or former ten year old crowd who is into mostly digimon, pokemon, other mons, and gimmick shows, while nothing is wrong with some of these, you can see where they usually don't have a real appreciation of things like, oh, I don't know...writing, characterization, plot development, artistic quality, and other design elements). Hey, I'm kind of ranting, I'm starting to sound like an elitist. Maybe I feel like one a little, but I ain't gonna start docking people's opinions.
Although I may use the Sui defense just once, for shits and giggles....no better not, don't want Shawn's brain to melt, then there will be no more Palon lollerfests.....
Sadly as we all know the show is a precurser to Gut's main Meat and Potatoes crusade for vengeance and whatnot, as evidenced by the first episode and probably spoiled by bloopers, so possibly we will (like everyone else) be thirsting for more (to the manga!).
Any current thoughts on Berserk?
Particularly neat scenes or anything?
